Sara Fandrey's New Release: The Little Red Panda and Mindfulness

Italian illustrator Sara Fandrey recently teamed up with Penguin Germany to illustrate The Little Red Panda and Mindfulness. The story follows a curious young panda on a journey through the forest, where he encounters new friends who gently guide him toward a more mindful way of experiencing the world.

Sara shared a few words about her experience working on this mindful project:

"When the team at Penguin Germany reached out with a story set in Asia the first thing I thought was “Red Panda!”. The character was not set yet, and I was so excited when they accepted my suggestion, I think red pandas are the cutest, funniest animals.

Drawing the illustrations for “Der kleine rote Panda und die Achtsamkeit” – “The little Red Panda and Mindfulness” was a real joy – Ming lives in a world full of magical places: the forest, the meadow, the river. He meets a lot of animals along the way, and I loved drawing each one of them. They all teach him to notice the little things, to feel with all his senses, to take in all the details of his surroundings, to be mindful. What a great message for the little ones! It was a real dream project with a dream publisher, the text is wonderful and very meaningful and I am so grateful I could be part of it."
