Hello there, I'm Sara Fandrey, a whimsical artist born and raised in Italy, with adventures in Scotland, Germany, and now Portugal. My art is a playful blend of analog and digital techniques, where I craft quirky characters on paper with pencil and ink, later infusing them with vibrant colors and captivating light and shadow effects digitally. People are drawn to the whimsical charm of my creations, often featuring in fantastical worlds where tiny characters dwell in handmade paper wonders.

Being a finalist at the "Livio Sossi Editorial Award" and showcasing my work at the prestigious Lucca Comics Festival has been a delightful highlight. I take pride in my diverse artistic explorations, including recent ventures into collage, where I find joy in simplicity and lightness. Character design and storytelling are at the core of my creative process, honed through experiences like the Picture Book Academy "Ars in Fabula," which equipped me with the skills to illustrate enchanting stories with depth and emotion.

My artistic journey traces back to childhood, where my sister's love for paper dolls fueled my daily drawing practice. Inspired by films like "Sissi," I sketched intricate princess gowns, setting the stage for my imaginative world. Today, I find inspiration in the tiniest details of life, be it the pages of beloved picture books or the everyday moments shared with my family. As a nurturing soul with two young children, I cherish connecting with fellow artists through challenges and collaborations, fostering creativity and spreading joy through my artwork.
