Lidia Tomshevskaya looks at how society affects our choice of clothing hairstyles and makeup according to our gender

Lidia Tomshevskaya is a Russian born Israeli artist who is inspired by folktales and architectural styles. We'd like to share her editorial illustrations (shown below) based on how outdated gender stereotypes can affect our way of living.  How society affects our choice of clothing hairstyles and makeup according to our gender.

Gender norms often push opinions that are outdated, that usually apply to heterosexual relationships, they perpetuate gender specific behaviours, that do more harm than good to people of all genders. We are all diverse, so we should be celebrating this, and be proud of this fact,  instead of aiming to be clones of each other. We need to live our lives the way we want to.

Lidia's artwork shows us how traditional perspectives can be very damaging. The use of the Blue & Pink ( colours we use to identify a boy and girl) have been used as a contradiction, to imply that you cannot put someone into one category. We cannot perceive things as black and white.
