A class celebrates Earth Day (22nd April) with a Dear Earth Writing Activity, Clara Anganuzzi

Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, it now includes events coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries.

Here's a few ways you can get involved without leaving your home, for instance; you could learn more about the environment,
cook a special Earth Day meal, plant wild flowers in your garden, welcome animals in your garden.

We're going to mark this occasion by sharing a real-life event, a few weeks ago Clara Anganuzzi received a wonderful envelope (which made her tear up!) A class had spent the afternoon reading 'Dear Earth' (written by Isabel Otter and illustrated by Clara),  and wrote their own letters! They also painted animals they spotted in the spreads, below is a couple of Clara's favourites!

Dear Earth
is a love-letter to Mother Nature that raises awareness of how we can appreciate and protect different worldwide habitats.  Dear Earth, published by Little Tiger Press,  also has a letter template if you wanted to write your own letter after enjoying the book - here's the link
