Yekyung Kwon

Hey there, I'm Yekyung Kwon, an illustrator originally from South Korea now based in Dallas, Texas. My art journey kicks off with whimsical sketches that later bloom into vibrant digital paintings, boasting textures akin to traditional printmaking. Rooted in personal tales, my illustrations pulse with emotions, radiating warmth through a blend of colors and layers that aim to tug at your heartstrings.

On top of being showered with accolades like the Best of Ringling Gold Juror’s Award and selections in prestigious competitions, my latest milestone is the publication of my picture book, ""상자아이(The Box Child),"" by Noransangsang in Korea. This project holds a special place in my heart as it fuses personal narratives with a burst of colors, embodying the essence of my artistic style. Clients appreciate the uplifting aura my creations exude, coupled with my knack for storytelling that adds depth and resonance to each piece.

As a globetrotter during my formative years, I honed my craft by channeling the kaleidoscope of emotions elicited by diverse landscapes and cultures into my work. Drawing inspiration from the nooks of nostalgia and the tapestry of everyday life, I infuse my illustrations with tales that resonate with the human experience. With a heart rooted in faith, I strive to infuse empathy, solace, and a gentle nudge towards love in every stroke of my art, aiming to create a world where connections thrive and stories endure. And while my family currently consists of my art and aspirations, I dream of one day adding a tiny human or a furry friend to the mix.
