Wanjira (Wan-jee-ra) is a freelance illustrator residing in Nairobi. Wanjira graduated from the University of Nairobi with a BA in Design. She began illustrating simply to create beautiful things for fun while she was at college, and she hasn't stopped since. Wanjira finds joy in infusing her digital illustrations with a sense of vibrancy and exploring a diverse array of themes and subjects, particularly the birds and insects that live in her garden. Her creative process often involves compositing images together, and is fueled by the indie rock or soul music playing in the background. Beyond illustration, Wanjira enjoys birdwatching, taking walks, and beading while curled up with her two cats in front of a TV show.
