Hello, my name is Rita Tan, a Chinese artist hailing from Indonesia and currently residing in Washington state, USA. My digital art style is characterized by soft, messy brushstrokes that often feature old buildings, lush vegetation, and expressive characters infused with humor. I have a penchant for creating scenes where families gather around food. I love the quirky or beautiful and haunting costumes of Halloween, the magic of Christmas lights, and the familial warmth of Chinese New Year celebrations. Beyond art, I find joy in gardening, nature walks, yoga, culinary adventures, quality family time, and immersing myself in captivating books.

I’m flexible in incorporating feedback and I deliver artwork punctually. I take pride in crafting beautiful and evocative pieces that showcase expressive characters set in moody or playful whimsical environments. My creative process involves character studies, storyboarding, and detailed planning of background settings, with a particular fondness for designing both the interior and exterior of old houses. I have a natural inclination towards integrating vegetation, old buildings, and patterns into my art, creating visually engaging narratives that captivate viewers.

Beyond the realm of art, my passions encompass nature walks, architectural marvels, playing piano, quality family time, and indulging in delectable cuisines at hole-in-the-wall restaurants. My husband, daughter and son are my rock and inspiration.
