A warm welcome to Wiliam Luong, his practise as careful, and he's a perfectionist

Introducing Luong Trong Hoang Trung/ his artist name; Wiliam Luong. Wiliam is based in Saigon, Vietnam and has now worked as an Illustrator for over ten years.   He likes to work with colour pencils and paint. He’d describe his practise as careful, as a perfectionist and his work is full of details. Here's a Q&A below so you can find out a little more about him..

Where did you grow up/where do you now live?

I grew up and live in Bien Hoa city.

Any special childhood influences which lead to your artistic career?
Not too much. I just like to play with colour pencil and paint, and my mom supported me to do that.


If you are not self-taught, what training did you undergo to become an artist?
I studied Graphic Design at a local art school. But becoming an illustrator was my dream, so I taught
myself for 3 years.

How would you describe your artwork?
Colourful and detailed. I love to play with colors and make viewers feel the power inside my work.

What methods do you usually employ in your art?

I try my best and play with Hue tool, LOL :)

How do you describe yourself when people ask about your career?

Careful, perfectionist and detailed.

Do you have a favourite piece that you have created?
Yas! Everything I show on my portfolio Is my Fav piece.

Do you have particular hobbies or interests outside the artistic field?
I like to travel with my friends, and be lazy with my cats.

Do you have any pets?
Yas! I’m a father of four cats.

If you weren’t an artist/illustrator, what do you think you’d be doing?
If I am not an Artist, I will be a librarian because I have more than two thousand mangas and two
hundred pictures book.

Do you have a favourite book/film?
“chef” is my fav movie, and “the hundred-year-old man who climbed out of the window and
disappeared”
is my fav book.

Do you prefer the country side or the city?
Both, because I’m the city boy so I like to enjoy the countryside or the jungle. But living in the city makes
me feel comfortable.

Do you listen to music when you drawn/ paint? If so, what kind?
Pop music, Kpop Us/Uk pop.
