'The Stormy Day' by Anna Milbourne, Illustrated by Anastasia Zababashkina

Illo artist, Anastasia Zababashkina, collaborated with Usbourne Publishing to illustrate a new addition to their Little Board Books Series. 'The Stormy Day' by Anna Milbourne helps children see the beauty in a storm.

"Storms can be scary, especially for little children. In sing-song text, this comforting tale about a stormy day by the sea tells children all about what happens in a storm. The wind is loud, the clouds big and black, and that grumbly noise in the sky is thunder. Lightning flashes, and thunder rumbles, and if you count, you can tell if the storm is coming or going away. But there's nothing to worry about - all storms pass. After the storm comes calm again - and lots of interesting things to find on the beach. With online audio to hear the story read aloud."

Anastasia is a ceramic artist by training, but fell in love with illustration a few years ago and started working as a freelancer based in Russia. She works in digital format mostly, but integrates interesting textures to create a less digital feel. She is attracted by the variety found in illustration, and particularly loves book illustration. Anastasia is inspired by movies, cartoons and loves collecting illustrated children’s books.
