Seeker of Truth, Illustrated by Danica de la Silva Pierera

When Little Bee Books reached out to us wanting to collaborate with Danica De La Silva Pierrera for the biography of Kailash Satyarthi, we immediately felt this was a great fit, and as you’d imagine we were excited to find out more.

The book released this month is titled “Seeker of Truth, Kailash Satyarthi's Fight to End Child Labor” and written by Srividhya Venkat  The biography is based on the great work of Kailash Satyarthi, who devoted his life to battling international child labor and exploitation. In 2014 his work earned him a Nobel Peace Prize alongside Malala Yousafzai.


It’s a 40-page picture book; 32 pages of story, plus endpapers, title page, and a spread of back matter all created by Danica De La Silva Pierara.

The illustrator; Danica Da Silva Pereira was born and bred in the tropical state of Goa, India and is currently based in the historical town of Cambridge, UK. After completing her Bachelors in Fine Arts, she worked as a graphic designer and illustrator. Danica graduated with an MA in Children’s Book Illustration from Cambridge School of Art, UK.

Her work is influenced by documentaries and she is passionate about representing diversity and advocating for environmental causes. She uses mixed media including colour pencil, water colour, acrylics, digital painting and enjoys screen printing.
