Dogs From Around The World
Francesca Cosanti just wrapped up her recent exhibition: Dogs from around the world, a collection of portraits showcasing a variety of furry friends. Francesca came up with this concept due to the love she has for her dog, Pina, and wanted to showcase the bond and happiness our friends give us every day.
The exhibition had an artist residency atmosphere, where visitors could stop by, watch and chat with Francesca as she worked away on new illustrations. In 12 days, over 2,000 people from around the world went to admire her portraits.
She partnered with the Monopoli Dog Kennel and the National League for the Defense of the Dog, to help raise funds to help the kennel’s puppies.
Francesca shares with us her impression from the show:
“The project was truly appreciated, and many people were moved during the visit. They showed me photos of their dogs; some are no longer with us, while others perhaps had stayed at home because they couldn't afford to travel so far for the holidays. So everyone, looking at the portraits, missed their own dogs, and people were a little sad, but also amused by some of the portraits. It was really exciting to be able to share my idea with so many people and also have many dogs as visitors who sometimes took a nap in my exhibition.”
