Inko Ai Takita

Next month I'm good to go.....

Inko Ai Takita is a Japanese manga artist/illustrator, now based in UK. 'Ai' in her name means 'love' in Japanese and she likes to say that it's proof she loves her work very much.

Inspired by old art she found at her family Buddhist temple, folktales and comedy shows, Inko fuses and transcends Eastern and Western cultures with her beautiful and unique visual works. She's worked with globally recognized clients such as the British Museum, V&A, British Library, TFL and Sony Entertainment Japan.

Her work,'Portrait of Violence (New International)', won a bronze medal in 2018 Independent Publisher Book Awards while her animation, 'Flight Paths', won the P.K. Walker Innovation in Craft Award from Superfest Disability Film Festival 2021. Her illustrations for Manga Yokai Stories (Tuttle), Learn Clip Studio Paint (Packt), Lady Murasaki's Tale of Genji (Tuttle) are sold worldwide.

Inko's art is also popular in the game industry: Magic The Gathering: Kamigawa dynasty visual novel (Wizard) and Promise Mascot Agency (Kaizen Game works), which won The Most Anticipated Award at the Debug Indie Game Awards 2025.
