Driss Chaoui

Hello, my name is Driss Chaoui, a vibrant illustrator hailing from the colorful landscapes of Southern rural France and currently based in Toulouse. My digital creations are a kaleidoscope of bold hues and quirky perspectives, making each piece uniquely identifiable. Advocating for LGBT+ and their adjacent feminist causes is at the core of my art, intertwining with my passion for representing Muslim and Maghribi identities. When I'm not crafting visually stunning illustrations, you can find me immersed in the fantastical world of Dungeons and Dragons, letting my creativity roam free.

I've had the honor of showcasing my talent on prestigious platforms, from being longlisted for the 2024 World Illustration to clinching the coveted 2024 American Illustration Awards. Notably, my work had the privilege of being part of the ALHAMDU, Muslim Futurism exhibition by Mipsterz in Durham, USA. With a master's degree in design under my belt, I take pride in my ability to seamlessly blend dynamic visuals with strong conceptual foundations, ensuring each project is a masterpiece in its own right. Clients appreciate my organized workflow, from initial sketches to final designs, showcasing my reliability and dedication to meeting deadlines.

As a teenager enamored with Goth culture, my early doodles echoed the moody melodies of 80s goth bands, sparking my artistic journey. Drawing inspiration from the ordinary, I infuse my illustrations with a fresh perspective, creating visually captivating narratives. When not immersed in the world of art, I relish moments with friends, sharing laughter and the latest gossip. My hope is to be remembered not only for my artistic flair but also for my quick wit and humor, a quality I cherish dearly. And although I may not have kids, my fabulous feline friend brings endless joy and inspiration to my creative endeavors.
