Cheyne Gallarde (he/him/his) is a queer artist who was born and raised in Hawaii, but now lives in San Francisco. Cheyne’s art reimagines drag queens and queer people as modern-day superheroes plucked straight out of the vintage comic books he grew up on. In 2019, he won a National Advertising Award for his illustrations of LGBTQ icons like Marsha P Johnson and Harvey Milk, created for LOGOTV. In 2020, his cover art for Penguin Books' queer-centric “Legendary Children” was released to much praise. Cheyne loves working with clients like True Religion, Johnson & Johnson, and Netflix who allow him to showcase queer people in a proud and positive light.
