My name is Eva Naroditskaya, I live in Moscow, and I was born in 1992. My mother is an artist, a sculpture, and she influenced my future choice of career, when I was younger. I used to have a personal art teacher, when I was a kid, and we were mostly working with watercolour, gouache and pencils, and we were also trying different fun techniques, when we used to draw with our eyes closed, or do draw with a left hand and some other fun techniques, which I continue using from time to time in my personal practice.
I also sometimes do a very fun task, which we used to do, when I was in the Art School- I’m making a small book for a week, and choosing a word, which I’m drawing in different styles, techniques and exploring different media. But when I’m working, all of my finished work is done on the computer, and I leave hand drawn and experiments only as private work.
I get a lot of inspiration from the works of other illustrators and friends on Instagram and Pinterest, and my favourite illustrator is Julia Sarda.
Another source of inspiration for me is movies. I like most of Wes Andersen’s movies, and I rewatch «The Grand Budapest Hotel», «Darjeeling LTD» and «The Tenenbaum Family» quite often when I’m in a bad mood, of when I need inspiration. I also get a lot of energy for work, by going out to the countryside, or to the forest for a walk, to clear my head a bit, and also doing yoga every day, gives me a lot of power and energy to continue working.
I’m a big fan of architecture, so while working I usually turn on a lecture on 20th century architecture or listen to an audiobook. If I need to concentrate on something specifically, I can switch to some light classical musicMy name is Eva Naroditskaya, I live in Moscow, and I was born in 1992.
